James (Jim) Troy Ridings, 74, of Clinton, TN, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Jim was born on August 23, 1950, in Maryville, TN. After graduating from Maryville High School in 1968, he joined the Air Force, where he was a Communications Specialist in Morse Code. After his service in the Vietnam War, he moved to Clinton and married his wife, Anna. They were married on October 28, 1972. They raised two wonderful children, Kelley and Adam. Jim loved to golf, watch the New York Yankees baseball, spend time with his family, and always knew how to light up the room with a joke.

Jim is survived by his wife, Anna Ridings, daughter Kelley Adkins (David, granddaughter Kayla Prosise (Jamie), grandson Quenton Johnson, and brother Kelly Ridings.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Ridings, his brother and sisters, and son, Adam Ridings.

He was a deacon and member of Black Oak Baptist Church in Clinton.

A graveside service will be held at Black Oak Baptist Church Cemetery for close friends and family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Black Oak Baptist Church.
