I bring to you the story of a life well-lived, a young man whose presence brought joy and laughter to those around him. Today, we celebrate the life of James Anthony Rivas, affectionately known as Baby James, who graced this world with his presence from July 15, 2002, until his untimely departure on October 7, 2024.
Born in the vibrant city of Austin, Texas, Baby James was a light in the lives of his loving family. He was the cherished son of James and Valerie Rivas, the protective brother to Alanna, and the adored grandson to Evangelina and Ramon Camarillo and Nancy Ledesma. He also leaves behind a legacy of love with his uncles Raymond Camarillo and Jeffrey Rivas, his aunt Lisa Valadez, and his close-knit cousins Audrey and her husband John Paul, Thomas and his wife Bernice, Jonathan, Carlos, Ricky, Cristian, Krystal and her husband Anthony, and Kaleb but has gone to be with his Popo Ramon Camarillo and Uncle Ricky Valadez.
Baby James's love for life was evident in his diverse interests, which ranged from spending quality time with his family to expanding his collection of knives. He was often found gaming with friends but one thing that could get him away was a trip to the beach to bask in the sun and enjoy the company of loved ones. His helping hand extended beyond his immediate circle to anyone in need. His sense of humor was infectious, his smile was contagious and his ability to lighten any mood was one of the many gifts he shared freely with everyone around him.
James's departure from this world leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit lives on in the memories and stories that his family and friends will continue to share. He was a shining example of what it means to be loving, funny, and thoughtful.
As we say goodbye to James Anthony Rivas, we do so with heavy hearts but also with the knowledge that his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. His laughter will echo in our memories, and his legacy of love and service will endure.
We honor the life of Baby James, a young man who, in his brief time with us, taught us the true meaning of generosity and joy. May his story remind us to cherish every moment, spread kindness wherever we go, and live a life that brings ease and happiness to others.
Thank you, James Anthony Rivas, for the laughter, the love, and the light you brought into this world. Your memory will forever be a treasure to those who loved you. May you rest in paradise.
