James F. Roberts "Jim" age 90 of Loudon, joined his loved ones in Paradise Friday evening, June 7th, 2024. Jim was born to the late Roy Kermit and Bessie (Cardwell) Roberts in Loudon. A lifelong resident, Jim graduated from Loudon High School and was employed for 30 years at the Maremont Corporation before his retirement. As a member of First Baptist Church, Lenoir City, Jim enjoyed singing in the choir and attending the David Davis Sunday School class. Jim and his wife Faye were very active in their community serving more than 25 years as volunteers for the Loudon County Election Commission working the early elections and the polls. Jim was a proud Republican and was inducted into the Loudon County Republican Hall of Fame. Jim was a lifelong Redskin fan and was supportive of all the LHS Redskin athletic programs as well as serving as Treasurer of the Loudon Quarterback Club. At home, Jim loved planting and working on his flower beds, but more than anything, Jim adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him great joy. Anything they did he was ready, willing and able to support and then praise them for their achievements. Jim was preceded by his parents, his beloved son Ronald "Ronnie" Roberts, beloved grandson, Tyler Roberts and brother, Gene Roberts.He is survived by his constant companion and wife of 68 years, Faye (Liles) Roberts, devoted daughter, Kathy Roberts McQueen; devoted daughter-in-law, Kim Patterson Roberts; grandchildren and spouses, Lindsey and Jim Knesek, Laura Roberts, Joshua and Stephanie McQueen, Jimmy and Haylee McQueen, Kristin and Anthony Shingler, Jefferson and Madalynn McQueen and Vanessa Roberts; great-grandchildren, Everleigh, Josie, Hollis, Elizabeth Faye, Charlotte, Natalie, Mackinlee and Jack; brothers, Bill, Ed and Kenny Roberts; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Sue and Keith Barber; numerous nieces and nephews.If you so desire, contributions in memory of Jim may be made to First Baptist Church, 2085 Simpson Rd. Lenoir City, TN 37772 to help the Tennessee Baptist Childrens Home in Chattanooga. Services honoring and remembering Jim Roberts will be held 7:00 PM Monday, June 10th in the McGill Click Chapel with Rev. Dick DeMerchant officiating.Interment will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday in New Steekee Cemetery with Rev. Mark Roberts officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Joshua, Jimmy and Jefferson McQueen, Hollis McQueen, Jack Roberts, Jim Knesek, Anthony Shingler, Wiley Brakebill and Kevin Harper. The family will receive friends from 4:30 - 7:00 PM Monday at McGill Click Funerals & Cremations, 1366 Hwy 72, Loudon.
