James Alan Rodgers

James Alan Rodgers was born on December 8, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to Richard and Merna Rodgers. James, who resided in Allen Park, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on December 2, 2025 at the age of 70. Beloved spouse of Virginia Rodgers. Loving father of Lee (Marissa) Rodgers, Lauren Klos, and Philip Rodgers. Dear brother of Marcia Weick. Dearest grandfather of Avery, Kadyn, Connor, Ella, Carter, Elena, and David Jr. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. James is also survived by many other loving family and friends.
From an early age, music lived in his heart, whether it was guitar, bass, or behind the soundboard, he took advantage of every opportunity to share his talent with everyone around him. James also had an uncanny ability to understand electronics, and often became the person everyone relied on to fix radios, amps, Appliances etc. He delighted in his ability to help others.
Above all, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He had a witty sense of humor and showed his love by special silly nicknames for his family that have been cherished for decades, and the family will hold close forever.
Beloved husband, father and grandfather, musician, and self-taught fixer of all things his life was a testament to curiosity, creativity and a love he shared freely with everyone around him. James will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Memorial service Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Forecast for Life Church, 11300 Reeck, Southgate, MI 48195. Gathering will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to Forecast for Life Church.
