Mileva Lekich

Lekich, Mileva, affectionately known as Miska, was born on August 20, 1934 in Gospic, Croatia to Mitar and Jovanka Lekich. Mileva, who resided in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, passed away on November 24, 2025 at the age of 91. She attended University of Belgrade School of Architecture in the mid 60's. She was fond of European art and architecture. Mileva also loved the latest fashion and even up to her 80s she would wear her 6-inch high heels. Mileva loved the outdoors and to travel in Yugoslavia and in the United States. Everywhere she went she would make friends. Mileva worked at Ford Motor Co. for over 15 years working hard to provide for herself and her sister. Even though she and her sister would always butt heads, they could not live without each other. She was very proud of her Serbian/Montenegrin heritage and was a devout Orthodox Christian. She was very proud of her parents' accomplishments and looked up to them. Mileva was a graceful, strong, independent, and wise woman, even up to her last breath. She would give you the shirt off her back. She loved spending time with children, always giving them chocolate, which she herself loved. She enjoyed gardening in her free time, giving special attention to her red geraniums. She leaves behind her beloved family especially the, Keca, Ciganovic, Stipic, Colovic, Petrovic, Apostolovski, Boskovski, and Sharkey families. Mileva was preceded in death by her parents Mitar and Jovanka, and her dear sister Andjelka Lekich. Mileva will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Visitation Friday, November 28, 2025 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the Allen Park Chapel of Voran Funeral Home, 5900 Allen Rd. (313) 928-2300. Funeral service Friday 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
