James J. Roth

After a long twenty-year battle with his health, on November 11th, James J. Roth passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. Born to Frances and Henry in the Bronx on June 26, 1957, he led a life that was full of positive energy. He would light up a room the minute he walked in and drew people into his world with his smile and warmth.

Jim had a master's in finance but was drawn to sales because of his love for being around people. He was successful for many years in the cheese business! Right out of college, he landed his first job selling a cheese we all know - Laughing Cow! He moved up through the company very quickly to Eastern Sales Manager. After many years there, he switched jobs to Schreiber Foods, where his success in the business world grew each day. He loved his job but had to retire early due to so many health issues.

Jim was blessed with an unbelievable voice that he shared with his family, friends, and community over the years. He sang at weddings, charity events, town functions, and yes, at home quite often. He loved music and found comfort in it.

Jim also had a strong faith that was able to sustain him and get him through so many years of struggles and pain. He was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Jim was a rock in his community. He was involved in many organizations and charities, among them the Knights of Columbus, Cornerstone, and many ministries through Our Lady of Mount Carmel. He gave his time and energy selflessly, always ready to lend a hand or a kind word to anyone in need. His presence made a lasting difference to those who served alongside him.

In his most painful days, he never once said, "Why me?" He kept positive through it and wanted to be an inspiration to all.

Jim is survived by his wife Mary of 46 years; his children, Thomas (Amanda), Lauren (Jon), and Amanda; his grandchildren, Leo, Wyatt, Reagan, Athena, and Henry; his siblings, Alfred, Evelyn, Barbara (deceased June 2024), and John; and his many nieces and nephews who loved him so much. We will carry him in our hearts always.

The family requests no flowers. Donations can be made to the John Theurer Cancer Center in Hackensack or The Parkinson's Foundation (Michael J. Fox) in Jim's honor.
