Therese Egan

Therese Ann "Terry" (DiEgidio) Egan, 70, of Ridgewood, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at Family of Caring at Ridgewood, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on April 23, 1955, to Josephine (Trovato) and Albert DiEgidio, Terry was the eldest of six children - Dawn DiEgidio, the late Albert DiEgidio, Mary Beth Morton (Mike), Louis DiEgidio (Joanne), and JoAnn Infield. From an early age, she embraced her role as big sister with love and responsibility, a role that shaped her into the caring, spirited, and hard-working woman so many adored.

Terry was the very definition of dedication. She was rarely without at least two jobs - whether running her AVON business, answering phones for the nursing service, or slicing cold cuts at the local deli. Whatever she did, she did with pride, humor, and an unshakable sense of purpose. Her coworkers and customers were drawn to her quick wit, infectious laugh, and genuine warmth.

In her younger years, Terry brought that same energy and laughter to the local women's softball team. Though she often joked about her lack of athletic ability, she became the team's beloved catcher and comic relief - not necessarily the star player, but certainly the heart of the team.

At home, Terry found joy in life's simple pleasures: cooking her famous Italian gravy, solving crossword puzzles with a strong cup (or four) of coffee, and spending time with her family and countless friends. She especially loved the beach - the salty air, the sand between her toes, and the warmth of the sun were her idea of pure happiness.

Terry was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence could fill any room with laughter and love.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Charles Egan; her son, Jay Egan; her "bonus daughter," Staci Koski; and her grandchildren, Dane and Ben Koski. She will also be deeply missed by her siblings, extended family, and the many friends whose lives she touched.

Terry's legacy of hard work, humor, and heart will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, November 9th from 2-4 PM. Memorial Mass on Monday, November 10 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, inurnment to follow at Valleau Cemetery, both in Ridgewood.
