James Edward "Jim" Rounds, 72, of Galesburg, died at 9:59 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025, in Galesburg.

He was born February 2, 1953, in Kewanee, the son of James Leroy and Rea Mae (Kindle) Rounds. He married Donna L. Lawhun on July 23, 1977, in Morris. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2021, after nearly 44 years of marriage.

He is survived by his siblings, Sandy (Wendell) Hull, Dean (Carol) Johnson, David (Lori) Rounds, Bruce Gill, Danny Rounds, and Cindy Rounds. Jim and Donna had a close relationship with Zachary and Lily Sandoval and Logan, Brianna, and Garrett Levene, treating them like grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim worked at Maytag for over 30 years until their closure. He then worked at Walmart for 15 years, retiring July 31, 2025. He was a devoted and active member of the Apostolic Tabernacle Church. Jim enjoyed camping. While Jim and Donna didn't have children of their own, they were parents to many children without regret.

Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10 a.m., at the Apostolic Tabernacle, 562 W. North St. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the church. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services is honored to serve the family.
