James "Russ" Ellis Obituary
James “Russ” Russell Ellis, 90, of Rittman, passed peacefully at home with his family by his side Saturday, March 9, 2024.
Russ was born July 30, 1933 in Hubbardstown, WV to Curtis and Esther {McComas} Ellis.
Russ served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He married Cheryl Hartley on September 1, 1995. She survives.
Russ was the store manager for West Cardinal Market for 30 years. Russ enjoyed gardening, flee marketing, antique collecting and spending time with his family.
Russ will be deeply missed by his wife; children Bryan (Wendi) Ellis of Edmond, OK, Gail (Shawn) Ellis of Ashland, KY, Mark (Jen) Hartley of Barberton, Bryan (Belva) Hartley of Wadsworth, and Carol (Nick) Mumaw of Wadsworth; grandchildren Jennifer Wilkinson, Tyler Mills, Joshua Mills; great-grandchildren Cannon and Cole Wilkinson, Olivia, Lydia, Layla, and Braxton.
Russ was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Virgil Pack officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.
