He was born January 1, 1960 in Keokuk, the son of Harry and Thelma Marmion Russell. He graduated from Keokuk High School with the class of 1979.
Steve had been employed by Biddy's Conoco and as a mechanic for Vradenburg Trucking, but more recently for John Briscoe Construction. He was a fixer upper and could fix just about anything.
Steve is survived by two sisters, Grace Russell and Rose Vradenburg of Keokuk and a brother, Everett Russell of Keokuk, his good friend, Mike Biddenstadt of Keokuk, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Bud Russell, Russell Jr., Charles Russell, and Bill Russell as well as two sisters, Joyce Jones and Mary Alice Russell.
A Gathering of Remembrance was held Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Vigen Memorial Home with family meeting friends at that time.
