James A. Samuel

James "Jim" A. Samuel, age 64 of Ellsworth died peacefully on November 10, 2022 at his residence in rural Ellsworth. James was born on May 16, 1958 to Otto and Audrey (Wilson) Samuel in Red Wing, MN. He attended Ellsworth High School after which he went into working and operating the family farm and hauled milk for many years. James later married Ann Jakes in 1986 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ellsworth, WI. This union blessed them with two children: Amanda and Adam.
Jim was happiest when he was on his tractors, specifically his John Deere tractors. He was known to be a kid at heart for most of his life. Enjoying messing around, joking, having a good laugh and spending time with his children.
Jim is survived by his wife, Ann; children, Amanda (Nick) Knaapen, and Adam Samuel; two grandchildren, Harper and Bryce; mother, Audrey Samuel; father-in-law, Phillip Jakes; brother, Merlin (Shari) Samuel; brothers-in-laws, Eugene (Shari) Jakes, Donald (Lori) Jakes, Wayne Jakes; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Donald) Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Otto Samuel; cousin, Laurie Overby; and uncle, Donald Samuel.
The family will be holding a private service at a later date.
