James F. Sauve
Bay City, Michigan
James "Jim" F. Sauve, 82, passed away peacefully at his lifelong home in Bay City, Michigan on Saturday April 26, 2025 surrounded by his ever loving and adoring family. He was born on December 7, 1942, in Bay City, Michigan to Clayton and Catherine (Williams) Sauve.
Jim had a long and successful career at Consumers Power Company and often generously applied his acquired skills as a gas appliance technician to assist family and friends repair what was broken. Jim was a skilled handyman and there was nothing he would not attempt to fix or enhance. He also applied his hands to arts and crafts, continuously adding beauty to his property, including building bird houses and unique rustic art. With a fresh pot of coffee on the burner, his home was always welcome to friends and family to stop by; he was a remarkable conversationalist and storyteller and quickly put people at ease and made them laugh. Jim enjoyed spending time with his best friend and beloved wife Linda, his family and his dog Bella. He was an avid reader and movie buff, and enjoyed flower gardening, bike riding, bonfires, and bird watching.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Linda (Reid) Sauve of 47 years, his parents Clayton and Catherine, and his siblings Jerry, Donna and Charles (Eileen). Jim is survived by his siblings Madeline, Joyce (Walt) and Carol, his children James C. Sauve, Rick (Paula) Sauve, Steve (Kathy) Sauve, Bradi (Andy) Bassett, Tori Herrera (and partner Dave Kraska), his 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, his many nieces and nephews, and his dog Bella.
Jim will be missed dearly by his community of family and friends, and remembered for his generosity, kindness and smiling good humor.
There will be a private family memorial at a later date. The family would like to thank MyMichigan Hospice for excellent care.
