James Schnars Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lind Funeral Home, Inc. on Oct. 4, 2025.
James "Jamie" C. Schnars III, 54, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at home after a long battle with cancer; he was surrounded by his family and friends.
Born on June 8, 1971, Jamie was the son of Christine and the late James C. Schnars Jr. He is survived by his beloved children, Oliver J. Schnars and Lilly J. Schnars, who were the light of his life; his siblings, Kelly Schnars, Bonnie Schnars, and John (Michele) Schnars; nieces and nephews, Emma Schnars, Genevieve Pittorf, William Schnars, Violet Pittorf, John Schnars, and Margaret Schnars; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his father, James C. Schnars Jr. on May 14, 2024.
Jamie found joy in many passions, namely working on endless car projects and spending countless years racing at Stateline Speedway. Yet nothing compared to the pride he felt in being a father. From the moment Oliver and Lilly were born, they became the center of his world - his greatest passion, his deepest joy, and his most cherished accomplishment.
Known for his quick wit, sarcasm, and big heart, Jamie loved to make people laugh and was always ready for a long conversation about whatever article or book he was reading at the time. His enthusiasm for life and his deep love for his family and friends will be remembered by all who knew him.
Friends will be received Tuesday, October 7th from 4 to 7 pm in the Lind Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, October 8th at Lind's, with a burial to follow at Lake View Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to Zion Covenant Church at www.zioncov.org or Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care at www.chpc.care/donate/.
