James Michael Scott was 74 years old and passed away in his sleep with his sweetheart by his side on November 23, 2024 in Riverton, Utah. Born 1950 in Seattle, WA. Served an LDS mission in Pennsylvania from 1969-1971. Married in the Salt Lake Temple to LaFonda, his sweetheart, on December, 17th 1971. They had 6 children and were married for 53 years.
He loved to serve in the temple. Also, loved genealogy work... He even wrote two books about his ancestors for future generations... His favorite thing in the world was spending time with his kids, grandchildren and his wife.
Survived by his wife, LaFonda and six children; youngest daughter, Janessa and son-in-law Simon Pugh; daughter, Annalyce and son-in-law Travis Priest; sons, Andrew, David, Jason and daughter-in-law Amryn; daughter Heidi and son-in-law Steve Merrin and 23 grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents Willis Scott and Imy Thompson.
Funeral will be held on Friday, December 6 at 12:00PM at the Stake Center located at 5562 W 13680 S, Herriman, UT 84096. Viewing will be from 10:00am to 11:40am.
Those we love don’t go away, They walk beside us everyday…Unseen, unheard, but always near... Still loved, still missed and very dear.
