James Sellmeyer, 57, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on September 27, 2025. Born and raised in Old Bridge, Jimmy settled in Manalapan along with his late wife Debra to raise a family.
Over the years, Jimmy worked as a general contractor. He enjoyed classic rock and attending concerts. Jimmy loved the outdoors; especially camping and canoeing. An avid Jets and Mets fan, above all things Jimmy never missed an opportunity to be with his family.
He was a former member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh. One of Jimmys greatest joys was "The Genesis Street Pub," a backyard retreat he built with his best friend Jim Tobin in 2024. By the following spring, it had become the heart of family gatherings, where Jimmy hosted barbecues, shared cold drinks, and served his famous meatballs and macaroni and cheese.
