James Gary Sims

Funeral service for James Gary Sims, 73, of Weaver, will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Bonds and Sims cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Mr. Sims passed away on June 27, 2025. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jenny Sims; grandson, Chase Sims; and his parents, Winford and Julia Sims. He leaves behind his children, David Gary Sims, April Combs, and Gina Thompson; grandchildren, Ashlie Estes, Julie Sims, Katelyn Sims, Lyndee Sims, Caleb Thompson, Hailey Thompson, Gabby Sims, Anndalyn Hartselle; great grandchildren, Keeleigh Holt, Malakai Sims, Greyson Jones, Ariella Jones, Ivyana Jones, Karlee Prater, Kainan Prater, Wesson Smith; sisters, Dorathy Pruitt, Linda Hardy, and Alice Ervin; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Sims loved his family especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed listening to music and singing. In his spare time he loved traveling and seeing new things. Pallbearers will be his family and friends.
