James Alan Sneska

James Alan “Jim” Sneska, 53, of Westminster, passed away peacefully at home, after bravely facing brain cancer with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

Born on September 19, 1971 in Westminster, he was the son to Nancy G. and the late Anthony M. Sneska. Jim was the loving husband of Carey B. Sneska, his devoted wife of 27 years.

Jim was a graduate of South Carroll High School, class of 1989. For the past 25 years, Jim was a proud and dedicated employee of Radiometer America. He began his career in service, later transitioned to sales, and eventually moved into the IT department.

Jim had a love for golf, fishing, and rooting for the Baltimore Ravens. He also enjoyed coaching his daughters' sports teams. One of his favorite ways to end the day was watching sunsets with Carey. Jim had a passion for helping others, whether it was fixing a computer, working on a car, or tackling projects around the house, he was always ready to lend a hand. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family and friends. Jim was a compassionate, caring, and loving soul who made so many lifelong friends along his journey. He had a happy, genuine smile that would light up the room.

Surviving, in addition to his loving wife and mother, Jim was a passionate father to his devoted daughters Abigail Sneska and Molly Sneska; cherished brother of Carolyn Fitzberger and her husband David, Anthony R. Sneska and his wife Francine, Diane Spicer and her husband Daniel; son-in-law of John and Karen Zylka; brother-in-law of Mark Zylka and his wife Lyse De Bourguignon, Scott Zylka and his wife Kristan; uncle of Hannah Smith, Anthony J. Sneska, Casey Fitzberger, Jonathan Fitzberger, Megyn Spicer, Landon Spicer, Wyatt Zylka, Henri Zylka, Jack Zylka, Max Zylka, and Nora Zylka, along with his large extended family.

The family will welcome family and friends for a memorial visitation to remember Jim’s Life 2-4- and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster (21157). A private memorial and celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Jim may be directed to support the neuro oncology research program at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
