James Edward Steinbrook, age 63, of Grandview, Missouri, passed away May 12, 2024, at his residence. Jim was born March 3, 1961, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Henry L. Steinbrook and Frances E. (Wilson) Taylor.
Jim attended school at Marmaton Valley, Moran, Kansas. He worked for Columbia Metal in Iola and later moved to Texas and worked in the oil industry. Jim then moved back to the area worked as a tree trimmer supervisor. He helped with clean-up after Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana. Jim owned and operated his own tree trimming business before retiring in 2023. He was known as an expert tree trimmer.
Jim never met a stranger. He was known for his kindness and his many friendships.
The day Jim became a father was one of his happiest days. His daughters were one of his greatest accomplishments. Jim loved hunting for arrowheads, old artifacts, and other treasures. He enjoyed collecting antiques. Jim was known as an animal lover. He loved visiting his sister, Sherry, and helping her on the farm and he liked spending time with his siblings and family. He was especially close to his brothers. He had a keen memory, especially for historical events. Jim was also known for his artistic abilities.
Jim was preceded in death by his father; brother, Wayne Lee Steinbrook; and his grandparents.
Jim is survived by daughters, Daryn Steinbrook and Vanci Roush; siblings, Michael Steinbrook, Sherry Elmenhorst, Russ Steinbrook, Hank Steinbrook, Aletha Mooney, Chuck Steinbrook, Lora Sumner, Lisa Griffiths, David Steinbrook, Daniela Taylor; one grandson, Robin Walcott; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service. Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mildred, Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to Fairview Cemetery, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
