James John "Jim" Steinis, 79, of Bridgewater passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at VCU Health System in Richmond.
He was born in New York City on June 15, 1944 and was a son of Stanley and Anna Norris Steinis.
Jim worked as a computer engineer at Honeywell for 25 years. After his retirement, he ran his own business, computerjim.com. He had served his country in the U.S. Army. Jim was active in his community and found helping others as his way of life. He loved camping and picnics and especially his cats. He was an avid world history buff and fan of New York sports teams, especially the Giants and Yankees. He was a "Jack of all trades" and handyman around the house.
Jim was united in marriage on October 23, 1999 to Margaret "Suzie" Stepp Steinis of Bridgewater.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his sister Theresa "Terry" Ward; two nieces, Dorian "Dory" Ward and Deanna "Dee Dee" Shoemaker alongside husband Bill Shoemaker; nephew Terence "Terry" Ward and wife Mia LaBerge and their daughters Elaina and Liberty; and step daughters Jessica Shifflett and Amy Shifflett Blum.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Area Committee, PO Box 1130, Locust Grove, VA 22508.
