James "Steve" Stephen Fergerson, 64 years old, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Son, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on July 3, 1960, born to Charlotte and James "Jim" Fergerson, in Moulton, AL. He was a member of Zoar Baptist Church.
Anyone who knew Steve knew his love for all things music. "Big Saxxy," as he was known by many of his followers, was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi International Band Honor Society. One of the big highlights of his latter life was ministering with Zoar's worship team in Japan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jami Fergerson; children, Tara Bezet, Angela Neames (Brandon), Tony Apollonio, William Fergerson, Erin Fergerson; grandchildren, Brooke, Jordan, Devin, Landon, Lawson, and Delia; great-grandchild, Kaiden; mother, Charlotte Fergerson; and sister, Alicia McKeough (Matt). He is also survived by his godsons, Ryan and Connor McCue; and his four-legged child, Brecker.
Steve is preceded in death by his father, James "Jim" Fergerson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Reggie McCue, Ronnie Pierce, Philip Parker, Richard Parker, Matt McKeough, and Harold Monk.
