SALEM – Mr. James Sullivan, Jr., 75, of Belmont, the loving husband of Maureen (Newsome) Sullivan, passed away on Friday, December 26th, 2025, at Beverly Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Belmont, James was the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Boylan) Sullivan. He was raised and educated in Belmont, where he graduated from Belmont High School.
James embarked on a lengthy professional career at Massport, where he served as a foreman. His experience and achievements ranged from decades of hard work, delegation, and leadership.
A lifelong avid Boston sports enthusiast, James was passionate about the Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox, and Patriots. James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife, Maureen, James is survived by his children, James Donnell Sullivan, III, Sean Patrick Sullivan and his wife, Audrey, and Heather Elizabeth DeRocher and her husband, Paul; James also has a bonus daughter, Cherie Tavares and her husband, Brian, a bonus son, Eric Horvath; many beloved grandchildren; his sisters Maura Kelleher, and Barbara Hearn and her husband Mike; his brother Jed Sullivan, and many nieces and nephews.
