James is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Simonds, and two grandsons, John Jeffrey and James Jay Simonds, all of Dexter MI. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Sweeny, and his brother Jack R. Sweeny.
Private services were held at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes.
