James “Jim” Albert Sweety, barely 60 years of age, died following a sudden illness.

He was born June 22, 1963 in Torrance California to Joan St.Almond Sweety and the late James Albert Sweety. Jim attended high school in Evergreen Colorado, as well as attending some college at Mesa State studying geology.

His most recent employment was at Solstice Senior Living Center as “the best'' Building Service Assistant. Jim also was a maintenance assistant at Larchwood Inns. Before that, he had an illustrious career as a chef for 6 years at Dos and 25 plus years at Village Inn on North Avenue.

Jim was more than an avid collector, acquiring a multitude of coins, insulators, train sets, fossils, and other random items that caught his eye. He enjoyed attending a monthly coin club.

Jim was a reliable, dependable, honest, hard working man. His dedication and his hard work were all for the love and support of his daughters and wife. He was an outgoing, fun loving, goofy guy. He loves heavy metal music, you could always hear him coming home blaring it out of his truck. He loved animals, joyfully catching snakes and frogs in the yard just for the close up ‘hello’. He doted on his beautiful dogs and cat. Jim loved being outdoors, taking walks in nature and taking it all in.

Jim was preceded in death by his father James Albert Sweety, and his father in law, David Anthony Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife Kim, his wonderful daughters Chelsea, Haley, and Taylor, and his oldest son Justin and his two children. Jim is also survived by his devoted mother Joan, his favorite sister Janet (Sean Perry), and his mother in law Sherry Johnson. He will also be greatly missed by his hairy children, Kaya, Kenai, Kitty and Gecko.

A celebration of his life will be held in October.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jim Sweety Memorial Fund at Timberline Bank, or the gofundme we have set up to support his family (titled “Jim Sweety, Husband and Father, Gone Too Soon”)
