James Quentin Tapley, age 75 years of Revelo, Kentucky died Monday, October 16, 2023 at his home.
He was born in Revelo, Kentucky on September 21, 1948, the son of George Lewis Tapley and Pearl (Watters) Tapley. Quentin worked for McCreary Hardwoods as an off bearer and had been a Deacon at the East Appletree United Baptist Church for 22 years. He enjoyed hurting, fishing, camping and going to church and most of all spending time with his grandbabies, family and special friends.
His parents; brothers; George L. Tapley Jr., and Denzil Leon Tapley, and sister; Lois Goodwin, precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Connie Faye (Jones) Tapley, whom he married February 21, 1970. His children; Rebecca Whitehead (Gary) of Stearns, Kentucky. Jerry Tapley (Jennifer) of Stearns, Kentucky and Stephanie Foster (Michael) of Strunk, Kentucky, brother; Mike Tapley (Mary) of Stearns, Kentucky, sisters; Ann Acres of Stearns, Kentucky, Carolyn Coffey (Carl) of Georgia, Vonda New (Leonard) of Stearns, Kentucky, Stella Tapley of Stearns, Kentucky, Flora Perkins (Jay) of Monticello, Kentucky and sister-in-law; Josie Tapley of Pine Knot, Kentucky. Also his mother-in-law; Irene Jones of Stearns, Kentucky, Grandchildren; Tyler Sumner (Amanda),Ryan Sumner (McKayla), Ben Foster, Billy Tapley, Luke Foster, Gary Whitehead (Rachel),and Faith Whitehead, Great Grandchildren; Beau Sumner, Easton Sumner, Kason Sumner, Kensley Sumner, Grayson Barnes, Gabe Barnes, Evie Byrge, Dre Whitehead and Allie Whitehead, also many special nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held, 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 19,2023 at the McCreary County Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne Inman and Brother Steven Jones officiating, burial will follow in the Rock Springs Cemetery. This family will receive friends after 12:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
