Larry J. Winchester, age 81 years, of Maryland Heights, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri.
He was born August 10, 1944, in Beech Grove, Kentucky, to the late Clarence “Hammer” and Velva Mae (Dobbs) Winchester. Larry had worked as a security guard was a member of the Restoration Church and First Apostolic Church, and enjoyed traveling, visiting 31 states and lived in 6.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Manford Winchester, Denver Winchester, Charles Winchester and a sister, Janice Rose
Surviving family include his wife, Darlene Rose (Berry) Winchester of Maryland Heights, Missouri, three sons: DeWayne (Mary) Winchester of Stearns, Kentucky, Christopher (Jessica) Winchester of Irvin, Kentucky, and Brian (Melissa) Winchester of Maryland Heights, Missouri; brothers, Ronnie Winchester of Stearns, Kentucky and Roger Winchester (Glenda) of Stearns, Kentucky; sisters, Shirley Gibson, Brenda Taylor (Mike), and Barbara Berry (Mike) all of Stearns, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jeremiah Winchester, Joshua (Victoria), Jessica Burris (Wesley), Destiny, Mahkaylyn, Kristen, Christian (Nick) Mossinghoff, Brianna, Justin (Dana), Darrell (Angela), and Kiana; and sixteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1pm Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Cox and Bro. DeWayne Winchester officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Knot Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends after 11am Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
