Today I have learned that I need to know my family better. I'm the baby of his grandfathers generation. Our family has grown apart. I hope to make myself a better person. My condolences, my thoughts and our love to the Thompson family.

I grew up playing soccer with James for The Chicago Magic. No matter how serious the situation, practice, or, game; James always had a joke to crack and and was just an all around hilarious kid/young man. When you showed up to practice or games and saw that James was there before you, you knew that a small tease or joke was headed your way. James always helped lighten the mood. Rest Easy JT.

Condolences to the Thompson Family.

I am heartbroken. I had the good fortune to meet James through work in 2019. He was an incredibly positive and thoughtful individual, with all the potential in the world. The world lost someone special. My condolences and thoughts are with his loved ones during this time. I am so, so sorry for your loss.

I had the absolute pleasure to be one of James´ managers at DocuSign, and while he was only on my team for about 6 months before being promoted the impact he made was lasting. James was always hungry to learn and grow but also ensured he was bringing others up with him along the way - a true leader through and through. After being promoted from my team James always kept me up to date on how things were going and I was proud to call him a friend by the time my journey at DocuSign came to an end.

I am glad to have known James, his spark was genuine and I feel honored to have crossed paths with him. He will be sorely missed, but his legacy will not soon be forgotten. Fly high my friend.

James was the most kind-hearted soul. I had the privilege of getting to know him from Ecolab training. He was always the light of the room and looked for the good in every situation. The world lost a wonderful person. Prays to James' family and friends.

I am very lucky to have worked alongside James for the last 2+ years. James was a positive influence for everyone he came across, and put a smile on everyone's face. I have so many great memories in office, at happy hours and on zoom over the last couple years. Thank you for being a great friend, colleague and an incredible person. Much love buddy.

James was one of the most impactful professionals we've had at DocuSign. He modeled all of the attributes you could possibly want to see in a colleague. He saw the best and brought out the best in everyone around him. He brightened this world with his presence and lifted up so many people -- people who have and will continue to pay forward the kindness and generosity he showed them.

With gratitude and appreciation,
