Joseph Frank Swierczynski

Joseph Frank Swierczynski, age 13, a resident of Plainfield, IL, passed away unexpectedly on August 26, 2022. Joey fought a hard battle in his last days, with the same courageous spirit that drove him throughout his entire lifetime of health challenges. He was born on October 1, 2008 in Joliet, IL.
Joey is survived by his loving parents, Frank and Debra Swiercyznski; his sister, Tessa, and brothers, Dominic, Nicolas and Michael; his grandmothers, Teresa Jajko and Marguerite Gagliano; his aunts and uncles, Christopher (Anne) Jajko, John (Kim Wasko) Gagliano, Cathy Smith, and Kevin Smith; his cousins, Nicole Gagliano, Vincent Gagliano, Katelyn Smith, and Kylie Smith; as well as many good friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Les Jajko.
Always a happy boy, Joey loved life. He enjoyed being in the water and loved to play in the pool. Waterparks opened up a whole new world of adventure to him and he couldn t go down the slides or stand in the sprayers enough. Though he didn t care much for barking dogs or noisy crowds, Joey was a purveyor of his own brand of loud noises that he took great delight in producing. Joey was a student in the Special Needs Program at Plainfield North High School and always looked forward to his time at school. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his sweet smile and memories will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Routes 30 & 59, Plainfield. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM in the funeral home with Rev. John Regan officiating. Interment will be private.
