Mary R. Ciesielski (nee McAleer), age 95, a resident of Lisle, IL from 1962-2023, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at St. Patrick's Residence in Naperville. She was born on November 25, 1929, in Monticello, IA.
Beloved wife of the late John M. Ciesielski, whom she married July 24, 1954 and who preceded her in death on February 10, 2004, loving mother of Margaret (the late Richard) Baldwin of Elk Grove Village, IL, John T. Ciesielski of Milwaukee, WI and Daniel (Connie) Ciesielski of North Aurora, IL, adored grandmother of Melissa (Jeffrey) Evangelista and Kristine (Jack) Kelly; Emily (Eric) Pepin and Anna Ciesielski, cherished great-grandmother of Sydney and Donovan Evangelista; Gavin and Nora Kelly; Felix Pepin, devoted daughter of the late Raymond and Irene (nee Kehoe) McAleer, dear sister of the late Sr. Dolores McAleer, O.P. and the late Donald McAleer, friend of many.
Mary grew up in Independence, IA, was a graduate of St. John High School and the Mercy School of Nursing, Dubuque, IA. A registered nurse, Mary was employed at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL, Edward Hospital in Naperville and St. Procopius Abbey in Lisle. Mary was a current member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Naperville and was a former member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Lisle.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, 9:00-10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Residence, 1400 Brookdale Rd., Naperville, IL 60563.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Tuesday, 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Residence with Fr. John Sponder officiating.
Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville, IL.
Everyone is invited to join the family for a luncheon reception at Maggiano's Little Italy, 1847 Freedom Dr, Naperville, IL 60563, (630) 536-2270.
