James Wendell Tidwell

James "Wendell" Tidwell, age 59, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Tristar Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN. He was born on May 15, 1966, in Dickson, TN to the late Norma Obeura Hooper Tidwell and James Lester Tidwell. Wendell was the life of the party and because he was the "joker" he made everyone around him laugh and have a great time. He was known for his kindhearted and caring nature. Wendell made the most out of life and lived in the way he wanted to live. He was true to himself and all he loved. He will forever be missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his sisters, Denise Rochelle (Kenneth), McEwen, TN, and Mary Lewis (Brian), Waverly, TN; nephews, Brandon Rochelle, Bradlee Rochelle, and Anthony Hatcher; niece, Alexis Hinton; companion Lana McLaren; and many great nieces and great nephews.
Along with his parents, Wendell is preceded in death by numerous half brothers and sisters.
A visitation will be held at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, beginning at 12:00 P.M. until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 P.M. Pastor Garrette Milliken will be officiating the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Luff-Bowen Funeral Home.
