James Garza Tijerina, Sr., 66, of Buffalo, Texas passed away on December 14, 2024, in Bryan, Texas. He was born on May 12, 1958, in Ganado, Texas to Dionicio and Maria (Garza) Tijerina. James moved his family to Buffalo, Texas in 1988, and made it their permanent home. He had worked for R Construction since 1993, and made many friends and co-workers over the years. James would give anyone the shirt off his back and was always willing to lend a hand. He had several hobbies and was very competitive in everything.
James was preceded in death by both of his parents; a baby sister; four brothers; and his daughter. Left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Lorraine; sons, BJ (Renee), Gilbert and Thomas (Kayla); daughters, Lacie (Jake) and Jennifer; brother, Johnny (Emma); sister, Janie (John); twelve grandchildren, Kaylie, Kolby, Gavyn, Jennie, Chelsey, JT, Grant, Isabella, Amelia, Mystin, Grayson, and Bella; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
A funeral service for James Garza Tijerina, Sr., will be at 2 P.M., Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas. Pastor Dwaine Woodard will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Jewett Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 6 P.M. with visitation to follow until 8 P.M., Tuesday evening, December 17, 2024, at the funeral home.
