James Timpe Obituary
Age 88 passed away Friday January 9, 2026, at StoryPoint Senior Living in Romeoville. A resident of the Carillon Community of Plainfield, formerly of Villa Park. Jim was a devoted Teacher; he retired from Proviso West High School math department after many wonderful years of service. He was also an avid Cubs fan and a proud U of I "Fighting Illini" Alumni. He is survived by his wife Elaine Holler-Timpe; son James (Denise) Timpe, stepchildren Albert Holler III, Ann (Tim) Schremp, Kathleen (Bill) Tumpane, Thomas Holler, and Joel (Rachel) Holler; grandchildren Jan Timpe, Henry Timpe, Mia Timpe, Lilli Timpe, Scott Timpe, Matthew Timpe, step grandchildren Nicole (Brian) Chandler, Brian (Ana) Schremp, Katie (Eric Reyes) Schremp, Bill (Grace) Tumpane, Tyler Tumpane, Josh (fiancée Lauren) Tumpane, Albert Holler IV, Alondra Holler, Ryan Holler, Sean Holler, Liam Holler, and Rosalie Holler; three great step grandchildren, Jane Behrend and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife Reva Sue Timpe; parents Carl and Rosina Timpe; son Joseph Timpe, and stepson Michael Holler, also two brothers and two sisters. Visitation Tuesday January 13, 2026, lie in state from 9:30 am until the time of Mass 10:00 am at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor Ave., Joliet, IL 60435. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) appreciated.
