JAMES TONE
March 21, 1953 ˜ January 25, 2025

James Tone, born on March 21, 1953, in Minneapolis, MN, passed away after a battle with Lung Cancer on Jan. 25, 2025, in Peoria, AZ. Jim was the beloved son of Leroy Tone and Loretta Jensen Tone. He was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Loretta, brothers Michael and Stephen Tone. Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years Saundra, sons Jeff and Joe Tone, and his cherished grandchildren Colin Tone, Kensli Tone, and David Goad as well as his brothers Robert and David Tone and sister Mary Tone Kugelman.
Jim spent much of his life raising a family in Woodland, WA. During his time there, he dedicated himself to serving others as a Volunteer Firefighter EMT. His commitment to service continued as a long serving City Council member and community advocate for the town he called home. Jim’s devotion to putting others first along with his commitment to excellence was evident in the work as well, finishing his career with Kroger in Portland, OR and Riverside, CA.
Jim will be remembered for his devotion to putting others first always, dedication to his family and value of public service in his community. May his memory and many many friendships bring comfort to all who knew him. Two celebrations of life will be held, one in Southern California and an additional event will be hosted in Woodland, WA at a date to be announced.
