Jim passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at McLaren Bay Region, age 87. He was born September 25, 1934 in Mason, Michigan. He married Katheryn J. Fuller on December 8, 2018 and she survives him. He was a proud veteran and served his country with the US Army. Jim retired from General Motors and was a long time member of the Bay County Veterans Honor Guard. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #18 and the PLAV Post #162. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, swimming, activities outdoors, spoiling his dog Dolly and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife Katie are two sons, Kenneth and Timothy Tostevin, step-daughter April Sutton and her family and one brother John Tostevin.
Per Jim's request, cremation has taken place. Members of the PLAV will have their Remembrance Ceremony at 12:45 PM at the funeral home. Military Honors, under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Honor Guard and the US Army will be held Monday, February 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Squires Funeral Home, 211 N. Henry Street, Bay City, MI 48706. Immediately following Military Honors, Rev. Charles Campbell will officiate Jim's Memorial Service. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of service. www.squiresfuneralhome.com
