James M. "Jim" Turpin, 81, of Greencastle, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Asbury Towers Retirement Community in Greencastle. He was born Tuesday, January 25, 1944 to the late Everett and Daisy (Fulk) Turpin. Jim was a Martinsville High School graduate. In 2010, he retired from Matchless Machine and Tool as one of their machinists. Jim attended church at both Manna Mission and Gateway Tabernacle. He truly loved reading his Bible. When Jim had free time, he would go fishing. Jim is survived by his children, David Turpin, Kimberly Kenworthy, Laurie Elliott; grandchildren, Allen Hopper, Daniel Kenworthy, Haley Kenworthy; great grandchildren, Alice and Vernetia. He is preceded in death by his wife, Vernetia (Pearson) Turpin; parents, Everett and Daisy. Jim will be laid to rest 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Hilldale Cemetery in Martinsville, Indiana at a graveside service.
