A memorial service will held at 5:30 p.m. on December 15, 2022 at St. John's United Methodist Church Sanctuary in Fort Mill. The visitation will follow from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
Born in Madison, Indiana, Jim was the son of the late Riley Vaughn and Susan "Sue" Ison Peper. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Southern Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina. Jim was a tax auditor with the State of South Carolina Department of Revenue. He enjoyed square dancing with his wife Myra, playing cards, and watching western movies.
Surviving are his wife, Myra Dike Vaughn; his children, Scott Vaughn of Fort Mill and Melissa Renneker of Fort Mill; his brother, Jerry Vaughn (Dyan); three grandchildren, Jessica Bowler (Je'Christopher Sr.), Jared Renneker, and Jada Renneker; and great-grandchildren, Leilani Bowler, Je'Christopher Bowler II, and Je'Corey Bowler; and a niece and a nephew.
Memorial may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1298, Fort Mill, SC 29716.

First and foremost, I thank GOD that Jim was a Christian man that had strong faith and I wish to convey my sympathy for his family and hope you know that Jim is well taken care of by our Heavenly Father and his angels. I will miss him so and will never forget the sweet gestures and funny stories that Jim brought to us all here at Personal Legal Plans. He was such a giving soul and I will miss our talks about the LORD and his tomatoes that he would always bring me, because he knew that I loved them so, as I loved Jim so. Rest on Jim in the arms of our Savior JESUS CHRIST. We loved you so.
