A Celebration of Life service is planned for 3:00 P.M., Sunday, April 6, at 616 North J Street in Duncan. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
James worked as a plumber most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing horseshoes. He married Marcy Wooten on November 5, 1987. He loved spending time with his family and his pet dogs.
James is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marcy; father, Ray Von Wakeland; brother, Kenneth Wakeland of Macomb, Illinois; and sister, Jennifer Lindsey of Duncan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julie Robinson; brother, Ranny Wakeland; and sister, Cynthia Young.

Sending big hugs and so much love to my aunt and uncle in Houston and my cousins and Marcy in Oklahoma. I was so sad to hear of James´s passing. Kenny and Jenny, I love you both so very much. James my man, I am shocked at your unconventional exit from this life, but then again you never did very many things the conventional way did you. Life just hasn't been the same without you and Marcy in it. I have a lifetime of memories made with both of you and your families. I never would have thought that the next time I see you would be in the afterlife but that's the way things have unfolded. Tell the other James hello for me and y'all don't have too much fun on the disc golf course. Until we meet again my friend.
