James Scott Walker

Scott Walker, 61, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on November 20, 1963, in Lake City, Florida, to Dave and Jettie Ruth Walker. Scott was a 1982 graduate of Lafayette High School where he was a member of the 1981 High School State Championship Football Team. He served as a Major for the Department of Corrections for 28 years, working in the Mayo, Wakulla, and Cross City Prisons. Scott was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Midway Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Scott was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, especially turkey hunting, and early mornings listening to his dogs trailing a deer. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Dave and Jettie Ruth Walker; his first wife and mother of his children, Connie Bachara Walker; and his brother, Tim Walker.
He leaves behind: his loving wife, Heather Walker; sons, Ryan Walker, and wife Joy, and Chace Walker, and wife Nicole; a daughter, Kailee Sampson, and husband Justin; step-sons, Britton Rollison, and wife Haylee, and Connor Rollison; 9 grandchildren, Kane & Reece Walker, Cade & Hope Jackson and Annley Walker, Cohen & Brady Sampson, and Kolter & Beckett Rollison; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. His family was the focal point of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Friends, family, and anyone touched by Scott's life are invited to join us for the public visitation at Airline Baptist Church on May 30, 2025, at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service celebrating his life at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Midway Cemetery. We invite you to come and share your memories of this wonderful man who brought so much joy to our lives. Scott may be gone, but his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
