James Marcus Weathers, a man defined by his strength, his sharp wit, and an unwavering commitment to family, passed away on August 28, 2025, at the age of 54.

Born in 1970, James lived a life dedicated to simple joys and playful adventures. To know James was to appreciate his renowned sense of humor; he was famous for his sarcasm and his ability to make everyone around him laugh. He was a man who lived truly "in the moment" and possessed a deep, expansive love for all his family-both old and new-and his constant canine companions.

James was a person of diverse interests. He loved many genres of music, enjoyed cooking and eating, and found peace during family outings to the beaches and parks. His playful nature led him to enjoy sports, fishing, and pursuing the "huge adventures" he dreamed of, including skydiving, deep-sea fishing, and long road trips. He cherished family traditions, especially during Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Father's Day.

Throughout his working life, James wore many hats: he was a janitor, a maintenance man, a skilled mechanic, and even a baseball coach. However, his most treasured role-and his favorite life's work-was being a devoted father, grandfather, and step-father.

He leaves behind a loving legacy rooted in the large family he adored. James leaves behind his four siblings: Steve (affectionately known as Bubba), Christopher, Margaret, and Kathy. He was the proud patriarch to 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the greatest joy of his life.

James's presence will forever be felt in the everyday moments: in a strong cup of coffee, the enjoyment of a good meal, the suspense of a horror movie, the way he could always fix things, and even the sound of his characteristic snoring.

His passing has made a profound and permanent impact on all who loved him, but it has also taught us the importance of leaning on one another through grief. We will continue to remember James through his life lessons, his pictures, and the many memories we hold in our hearts. He will live there forever.
