Funeral Services for James Webb of Gallion will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. from the Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Warren Huggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
James Webb, 74, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, July 29,2024. He was surrounded by his loving wife Mary and two sons Jim and Josh and dear friends from Legacy Hospice. James was born April 2,1950 in the Providence community to the late Burlon Webb and Susie Ford Webb where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Linden High School and attend Hopson State Technical School in Thomasville. After school James went to work at what was then Lone Star Cement Co. (Cemex) and worked until his retirement in 2013. James loved his family and friends and his time visiting with them. He was a proud husband and "Dad" and loved children. He and Mae welcomed many into their home and was known to some as "Uncle James" and "Aunt Mary". James loved his Lord and Savior and was a long-time member of Providence Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Mary Holt Webb, two sons, Jim Webb and Josh Webb. He is also survived by his mother Susie Ford Webb of Providence, brother William (George) Webb (Charlotte), sister-in-law Martha Holt McKnight (Clifton), brother-in-law, Larry Holt (Maritta), and sister-in-law Dot Holt. One niece and nephew. Also, not to be forgotten is his true loved and devoted friend of many years "Greta".
Greta spent many countless hours laying near her friend, watching after him, providing true friendship, and support as the two of them only knew.
Pallbearers include Eddie Edwards, Bud Cannon, Tyler Sellers, Justin Ford, Chuck Glass, James Elliot, Clifton McKnight, and Wayne Allen.
Honorary Pallbearers include Harry McClure, Jimmy Blankenship, Randy Ford, Jeff Ford, Willie Frank Johnston, Ricky Hall, Paul Whitcomb, Marvin Ford, Marx Ford, and William Webb.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Legacy Hospice, Dr. Ronnie Chu and Chu Clinic along with their many friends who have been so kind through the years.
