MOUNT CARMEL – James Roman White, 91, went home to be with the Lord at his home on Saturday, November 23, 2024, with his family by his side. James was born on June 24, 1933, to his parents, Clyde and Ethel Nell (Turner) White in Scott Co. VA. and lived most of his life in Hawkins Co. He worked at JP Stevens in Kingsport for many years before retiring. He loved the outdoors and loved tinkering with old cars. James was a friend to all and never met someone he couldn't befriend. He was a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who would do anything for anyone. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn (King) White; son, Ronald White; and his brothers, Paul Turner White, and Junior White. James is survived by his children, RV White, Linda Lane, and Gary White; grandchildren, Jennifer Laney (Travis), and Melissa Lane; several great grandchildren; sister, Genena Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 PM.
