James "Jim" Walter Williams, Sr., of Stockton, California, passed away peacefully at his home in Pampa, Texas, on February 10, 2025, surrounded by family, after a short but brave battle with Leukemia. He was 70 years old. Born at Naval Hospital in Oakland, California on June 22, 1954, to Beverly Williams Stanford and Walter Williams, Jim spent most of his formative years in Stockton, CA, attending Franklin High School, and serving honorably in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Ord, California and Kaiserslautern, Germany.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Julia Kellogg Williams of Pampa, TX; his three children, Jimmy Williams (Jenny), Joey Williams (Aly), and April Williams Lundeen (Ben); his seven grandchildren, Caleb, Landon, Tessa, Beau, Wren, Eli, Isaac; and his first wife and mother of his children, Regina Williams (Lodi, CA). He is also survived by his three stepchildren, Eric Gray (Vonnie) of Pampa, TX, Jana Ferguson (Scott), and Kyle Gray (Melissa) both of CA, and six grandchildren, Alyssa, Keira, Payton, Marvin, Steel and Skyler.
Jim split his career between the steel and ironworking industry, working for both Stockton Steel and PDM's Stockton plant, and 10 years in Corrections as a Correctional Officer at California State Prison Solano in Vacaville, CA. In his free time, Jim enjoyed attending concerts and live music shows, golfing, and cooking - especially barbequing and making his famous rib sauce, J-Dubbs Q sauce.
In accordance with his wishes, Jim will be cremated, and no visitations will be held. Memorial services in both the Pampa, TX and Stockton/Lodi, CA areas will be planned at a later date with details to be announced.
