Lou Terry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Winegeart Funeral Home from Jan. 19 to Jan. 20, 2026.
Lou "Granny" Terry, 84 years old, of Pampa, Texas, is once again waltzing with the love of her life, Bill, only this time, they are together forever in glory. She peacefully passed from this life on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at her home while family sat with her. Lou was born on December 10, 1941, in Poteau, Oklahoma to Clayton and Birdie Pendergrass.

During her childhood, the family moved to Napa Valley, California where she attended high school until 1957 when they relocated to Pampa and made their home. Shortly after the move, she met Bill Terry at Caldwell's and following a short courtship, they married on October 23, 1958. In her younger years, she was employed at City of Pampa, Malone's Pharmacy and Alco, but her favorite job by far was being a housewife and mom – then came grandkids and that was the grandest thing ever!

She and Bill were quite the pair on a dance floor and could twostep with the best, but when a waltz came on, the two were beautifully in sync and practically told a love story. Lou also enjoyed working in the yard in her flowerbeds as well as being at the lake to enjoy nature and simple comforts. Lou wasn't much for cooking for herself, but when she had company coming over, she would cook up a feast!

There were times when Lou ruled her four kids like a drill sergeant, but that was for their own good, however, she truly did have a heart of gold and was a sweetheart. She absolutely loved her kids, grandkids, great-grands, great-great-grands and her four-legged companion, Peanut with all her heart. She was an amazing Granny to so many – blood and those who weren't even kin – but it didn't matter to her, she loved them all!

She was reunited in Heaven by her beloved Bill; grandson, Billy Stowers; great-grandson, Harlow Yates; and father-in-law, Orville Terry.

Lou's memories will remain alive in the hearts of her loved ones including her four children, Ronnie Terry and wife Jean of Pampa; Sherry Payton and husband Rick of Woodward, OK, Donnie Terry and wife Suzie of Pampa, Cindy Brown and husband Bill of Pampa; grandchildren, Christal Key of Woodward, OK, Steven Terry of Midland, Cassidy Yates of Pampa, J.T. Brown of Pampa, Jacob Brown of Amarillo, Chloe Brown of Pampa; great-grandchildren, Jarrett Coleman, Allyssa Allen, Brenton Stowers, Taylor Stowers, Ella Hollon, Kaden Yates, Haizlee Yates, Reverie Brown and four great-great-grandchildren, Wilder Coleman, Bronx Allen, Carter Landers, and Canton Allen.

The family will be hosting a private Celebration of Life Memorial service for Lou. They have entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.

For those wishing to honor Lou with a donation, the family suggests they be made to PAWS, PO Box 2095, Pampa, TX 79065.
