James Paul Woytik, 68, of Ellington, beloved husband of Susan A. (Bauer) Woytik, died peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2023, at home, after a courageous battle with CNS lymphoma, surrounded by his family. James was born in Manchester, CT, on September 7, 1954, the son of Margaret (Dunay) Woytik and the late Paul Woytik. He grew up in Stafford Springs and was a graduate of Stafford High School. Jim was married to the love of his life, Susan, on September 20, 1980, and together they settled in Ellington. He worked in welding & fabrication his whole career, semi-retiring from Atlantic Fabricating. In 2017, Jim earned his real estate license in preparation for a new career path during retirement. He was an avid NY Giants football fan, enjoyed trips to the casino, fishing, gardening, traveling, stock cars, and classic cars. He always dreamed of restoring a classic car. Jim's most important accomplishment in life was his family. He cherished the time he had to spend with his children and adored his grandchildren who were incredibly special to him. Along with his wife, Susan of Ellington, and his mother, Margaret of Stafford Springs, he leaves his children, Christopher J. Woytik and his wife Megan of Stafford Springs, and Kimberly M. Johnson and her husband Tim of Lebanon; his grandchildren, Aubrey and Riley Johnson both of Lebanon; his sisters, Paula Kology and her husband Gary of New Mexico, and Carol Kilcollins and her husband Wendell of Stafford Springs. His family will receive friends on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 9:30am-11:30am, at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd., (Rte. 83) Vernon. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home, beginning at 11:30am.

To Jim's Family,
I send my deepest condolences to all of you. I have spoken to Jim on the phone for many years in business and always enjoyed our conversations. We would often compare or complain about our mutual enjoyment of visiting Casinos! I know I am not the only one who had a business relationship with him that will miss his cheerful disposition. I hope all of your cherished memories of him help you through this difficult time.
