Jameson (Jamey) Trey Hackett, 32 of Delaware passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 in Hardin, Ohio. Jamey was a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished son, and loyal brother, who left this world far too soon.

Born November 23, 1992 in Delaware, Ohio, the son of Timothy & Michele (Nester) Hackett. Jamey was raised with strong family values, kindness, and an endless sense of adventure. He carried those traits throughout his life, bringing light and joy to everyone he met. He shared a close bond with his brother, Tim Hackett, sister-in-law Sara, and nephew Graham, as well as his sister Kelly, brother-in-law Dennis Jeffrey, and their children Charlotte and Maximus. He was a constant source of support and inspiration to all who knew him.

Jamey attended Rutherford B. Hayes High School, where he was active in football, soccer and men's volleyball. He graduated high school in 2011, and would further his education at The University of Dayton, graduating in 2015. Jamey was known for his tireless work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. He never backed down from a challenge and approached each venture with determination, ingenuity, and a quiet confidence that inspired those around him. Whether building a new business from the ground up or supporting others in their ambitions, he led by example-with integrity, grit, and a passion for creating something meaningful. To Jamey, hard work wasn't just a means to success-it was a way to provide, to grow, and to show love in action.

In 2017 he began dating Jess, the two had a deep unwavering connection. They were blessed with their first son, Jameson Jeremiah on May 23, 2018. They married August 8, 2020, and added a new member to the family, Jack Andrew on May 25, 2021. At the center of that purpose was his love for Jess. Their relationship was one built on laughter and the kind of effortless connection. They were teammates in every sense-whether raising their sons, sharing morning mimosas, or partnering up for volleyball games. Jamey adored Jess, and it showed in the way he looked at her, supported her dreams, and cherished the life they built together. Their love was genuine, strong, and full of warmth-the kind that anchors a family and inspires those around them.

Jamey had a rare ability to make others feel seen, heard, and loved. His humor was quick, his heart generous, and his strength quietly reassuring. Whether coaching his boys' in soccer/baseball, offering a helping hand, or sharing stories over backyard fires and bocce ball, Jamey lived with a purpose rooted in family and friendship. He and Jess were known for their playful competitiveness on the volleyball court, where they played frequently and created lifetime friendships. Their shared love of sports was just one of the many ways they connected.

Jamey was the best and most extraordinary father. He poured his heart into every moment with Jameson and Jack, shaping their lives with compassion, patience, and strength. Whether reading bedtime stories with wild voices, teaching them how to throw a baseball or kick a soccer ball, or simply listening with intention, he made his boys feel valued, safe, and fiercely loved. His greatest joy was watching them grow and guiding them with the kind of gentle wisdom that only the best dads possess. He was their superhero, their teacher, their rock-and that love will carry on in the young men they will become.

He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, integrity, and boundless love-a life rich in moments that mattered and memories that will never fade. Though his absence leaves an aching space, his presence will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.

Jamey is survived by his loving wife Jess; sons Jameson Jeremiah & Jack Andrew; Parents Tim & Michele Hackett; sister Kelly (Dennis) Jeffrey; Brother Timothy (Sara) Hackett; Many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and an endless amount of friends.

Jamey also leaves behind his best friend, Chase, whose bond with him was more like a brotherhood than a friendship. They shared years of memories-road trips, deep talks, spontaneous laughs, and the kind of unwavering loyalty that only true friends know. Chase was a constant in Jamey's life, and their friendship stood as a testament to trust, love, and mutual respect.
