On Saturday, August 16, 2025, Jamie "Kay" (Harrell) Lanquist gracefully left this earth guided by her two sons, Jason and Jamie, to meet her creator and savior Jesus Christ. She was 75 years old.

Kay was born to Thelma Lorraine Barns and James Harwood Harrell on May 3rd, 1950 in Stigler, OK. The family moved to McAlester, OK, where Kay graduated from McAlester High School in 1968. Shortly after graduation, Kay met the love of her life, a young airman named Donald James Lanquist, Jr. The two married on her birthday the next year and spent 57 wonderful years together, living in Texas, Louisiana and eventually settling in Oklahoma to raise their children. Their oldest son, Jason, was born in Marshall, TX in 1977; daughter Lindsey was born in Shreveport, LA in 1980; and youngest son, Jamie, was born in Oklahoma City in 1986. The family enjoyed summer road trips to Six Flags and Turner Falls and traveling out of state every year with Jason's baseball teams. The children all graduated from Yukon Public Schools. Kay was a business manager and billing specialist for a number of medical practices and was a well-respected co-worker and friend. Kay had a great eye for decorating and creating a lovely home for her family. She loved decorating and shopping for the holidays and making special candies and cookies for her children and grandchildren. She was also a die-hard OU sports fanatic and was adamant about watching them win in person, on TV or on the radio.

She is preceded in death by both of her sons, Jason Miles Lanquist and Donald James "Jamie" Lanquist III; her parents; her sister Doris Ann Cline; and her mother and father-in-law. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald James Lanquist, Jr.; her beloved daughter Lindsey Donnell McConnell and husband Joe; sister-in-law Joeda Lanquist; and her loving grandchildren McKenna, Parker, and Chelsea Lanquist, all of Yukon, OK; sister Beth Van Laningham and husband Gary and their children JimBob and Jill; special nieces Robin Woodley and husband Steve and Kari Hearod and husband Kevin, all of McAlester, OK, as well as a host of cousins, family and friends she touched in her life.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 10:00am at the Yukon Cemetery.
