Jamie Leuthold Obituary

Jamie (Kolodziejczak) Leuthold, 64, of Saxonburg, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. Having bravely overcome two earlier battles with cancer, Jamie faced a new form of the disease in her final days. She never complained. She was born Dec. 10, 1960, in Natrona, to the late Chester and Carol (Kopacki) Kolodziejczak. Jamie served as a dedicated dietician and clinical nutrition coordinator at the VA Hospitals for 32 years, where she also proudly served on the entertainment committee and several other committees for the 2011 National Veterans Wheelchair Games in Pittsburgh, arranging outings for the veterans. She was a member of the former St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Natrona. Jamie graduated from Highlands High School in 1978 and Penn State University in 1982 with a degree in dietetics and earned her master's degree in nutrition from Texas A&M in 1984. A selfless person, Jamie routinely gave more than she received. Whether it be a lifelong friend or a new acquaintance, she engaged everyone she encountered with kindness and sincerity. Her outsized generosity toward everyone she met could only be matched by her lifelong passion for shopping. She had a knack for selecting unique, meaningful items family and friends have been quoted to say, "She is the best gift giver ever." And we can't forget her sweet tooth, which matched her sweet disposition. After retiring, she thoroughly enjoyed her yearly trips to FL and traveling throughout the country with her husband, Bill, to various national parks and other places of interest. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, William "Bill" Leuthold; stepdaughter, Alison Leuthold (Steve Chrysanthis), of Hoboken, NJ; step-grandchildren, Calvin and Piper Chrysanthis, of Hoboken, NJ; stepson, Douglas Leuthold, of Chicago, IL; and a brother, Michael Kolodziejczak, of Sarasota, FL. A memorial Mass for Jamie will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in St. Mary Mother of God Church, 608 High St., Freeport, 16229, with Rev. Richard Kosisko, JCL, officiating. Interment will be private. DUSTER FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 347 E 10th Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526, is assisting the family in the arrangements. Visit dusterfh.com.

If I were to use one word to describe Jamie, it would be "sweet ". We both got to know her when we all worked at the VA hospital and the friendship continued after retirement. We enjoyed lunches with her and Bill in local places. As they say, God always takes the good ones first and that was certainly true in this case. RIP
Bill, if you need anything, you know where to find us. Take care, Walt and Debbie
