Jamie Elizabeth Piersol
January 28, 1965 – July 30, 2025
Jamie Elizabeth Peirsol, age 60, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 28, 1965, in Houston, Texas, to Edward and Bertha Sandell and was the youngest of four daughters. As the baby of the family, Jamie brought light, laughter, and joy into every space she entered, and she never lost that contagious spirit.
Jamie spent much of her career in the banking industry, where she built strong relationships and helped others with her sharp mind and generous heart. She also had an entrepreneurial spirit that led her into other ventures, including real estate. Whether in her professional life or personal pursuits, Jamie always chased her dreams with energy, passion and creativity.
She had a special gift for creating beauty in the spaces around her, especially through gardening and growing plants. Jamie loved spending time at the lake or relaxing by the beach. Both places that brought her peace and joy. She had a lifelong love of sports, both playing and coaching, and especially cherished the time spent with her co-ed softball team.
More than anything, Jamie loved her family deeply. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by her parents, sisters, husband, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who felt like family-playing cards, going on adventures, and simply experiencing life together. Her children and grandchildren, who lovingly called her Gammie, were her greatest pride and joy, and she poured her love and encouragement into each of them.
Jamie is survived by her loving husband, Kenny Stone; her children Erika Sansone (husband Ernest Gallander and children Jamison and Lily Mae), Thomas Woody (wife Kaysie and children Halle and Levi), and Briley Piersol (wife Summer). She is also survived by her mother, Bertha Sandell; her sisters Shirley Arnold (husband Steve), Debbie Treece (husband Ron), and Linda Moran (husband PJ); and her nieces Stacey Kimmel, Melody Causey, and Stephanie Rollins, as well as several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Ed Sandell, and her nephew, Tim Lee.
Jamie loved the Lord and lived a life rooted in her faith. Her relationship with Jesus Christ was her strong foundation. While her family and friends will miss her beyond words, they take comfort in knowing she is now at home with her Savior. Her vibrant spirit, boundless love, and joyful laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 10:00AM at First Baptist Church Palestine.
