Jan Hersh Obituary

Jan was born in Hanover, PA on December 22, 1955 and was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Smith) Lau. She was a devoted member of Carpenter's Workshop Fellowship in Seven Valleys. Jan enjoyed traveling to her brother's Micheal's house where they would go to Indiana and have Bible Study with her nephew and family. She also enjoyed playing bingo at Windy Hill Senior Center in Spring Grove and Friendship Hose Co. #1 in Spring Grove. Jan will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family.
Jan is survived by her daughters Amy Jackson (Kevin) of Spring Grove and Rachel Hersh (Brandon) of York; her grandchildren Brookelyn (Jacob), Chance (Alyssa), Hailey (Klayton), and Chloe; and one great-grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her nephew Eric Hersh; her niece Tanya McDowell; her brother Michael Lau; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Jan was preceded in death by her brother Jeff Lau.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Viewing in celebration of Jan's life on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00AM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, PA 17362 with Chaplain Rene Kinard officiating. Interment will be held privately by the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jan's memory may be made to Carpenter's Workshop Fellowship, 57 Church St., Seven Valleys, PA 17360.
