CHARLOTTE – Jane Ann Clinard, 65, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Norwich Family Group Home in Charlotte. Jane was born on November 21, 1959 in Forsyth County to the late Bobby and Linnie Idol Clinard. She was a lifelong member at Bunker Hill United Methodist Church where she was always ready to share a hug with her church family. Jane faced mental and physical disabilities from birth, but was very fortunate to have a loving family, friends, and various group homes that gave her great care. She was always smiling and never met a stranger. Her physical disabilities never limited her ability to throw a kick or a punch at her siblings when she was taking up for herself!
Jane had a love for horses, cats and being around other children. She also enjoyed watching sports and was always ready to go see the Christmas lights. Milkshakes were her favorite treat! At a very young age, Jane’s grandfather gave her the job of Tobacco Sled Supervisor – making sure everybody did their job right.
One thing that could be said about Jane is that God wants us to love everybody and anyone that knew Jane, knows that she is one of the few that fit that description.
Surviving are her siblings, Tim Clinard (Donna), Karen Powell (Ed), Robin Arnold, and Scott Clinard (Shannon); and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Bunker Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Ireson and Rev. Frances L. Browne officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
The family extends a heartfelt Thank You to the staff of Norwich Family Group Home and Via Health Hospice for their loving care of Jane. Memorials may be made to Via Health Partners – Philanthropy Department, PO Box 470408, Charlotte, NC 28247.
