Jane G. Fonti

Jane G. Fonti (nee Gulczynski), of the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and listening to her favorite singer, Adele, on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at home after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on December 4, 1944 in Wilkes Barre Township, Pennsylvania, then moving to Carteret, NJ at the age of 17. She then settled in Port Reading for many years. Her life, heart and soul was devoted to her beloved family; living each day as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother (Nanny). Jane loved cooking, especially her homemade pierogi's for Christmas Eve. She loved going to Bingo, going to the Casino's and loved playing scratch offs in the New Jersey Lottery. She was loved by so many friends and neighbors. She enjoyed all activities with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed all game shows on the game show network and loved Judge Judy.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Stella Gulczynski; husband, Charles Fonti; granddaughter, Marquitta Alston and siblings, Josephine Berecin, Chester Gulczynski, Estelle Mattis and Linda Ihnat. Surviving are her daughters, Cynthia Alston with her husband Cliff and Sandra D'Emilio with her husband Chip. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Monica, Cliffy Jr., Darrec, Ciara, Shannon, Gabriella with her fiance PJ and Alexis; great grandchildren, Jayda, Azia, Destiny, Ariella, Kash and Makai along with her siblings, Diane Wasnalas, Ellen Dickson and Julie Lehman along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be deeply missed by her best friend and partner in crime, Carol Benson along with her extended family members, Joe Mattis, Jamie Steinbacher and Ernie D'Emilio.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 3pm to 7pm at CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading, NJ 07064. Private cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jane may be made to the family.
